While partying in Las Vegas, Prince Harry reportedly racked up a bill of over £30,000, but never had to pay it off ‘thanks to a billionaire owner’.

Biographer Katie Nicholl claims the prince’s spending spree took place while he was staying at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas back in 2012, the same hotel where the Royal was pictured naked in photos that were then leaked online.

Appearing on Channel 5’s Spending Secrets of the Royals, Katie claims that when it came to settling his expenses ‘Steve Wynn, the owner of the hotel Harry was staying in, just wiped the slate clean’.

Katie also claims this wasn’t the first time that Prince Harry didn’t have to pay a bill.

While on a night out in London’s Mayfair in 2007, ‘Prince Harry tried to pay with his Army identity card.’

After racking up a ‘pretty sizeable bar bill’ during a party with friends and his then girlfriend Chelsea Davy, Katie said: ‘The barman called for the manager to see exactly what to do about this transaction and the bill was waived.’

Yet the prince’s extravagant spending on parties pales in comparison to what would be the biggest party of all: his wedding day.

According to the royal biographer, ‘Harry and Meghan’s wedding cost over £32m’ and the ‘majority would have gone on security, which was the biggest single expenditure’.

She added: ‘£286,000 or thereabouts was spent on catering for the evening event, £193,000 on drink alone, a further £100,000 on the flowers which beautifully adorned St George’s Chapel and then £387,000 on Meghan’s wedding dress.’

The documentary also claims that the Queen Mother also lived in an extravagant fashion during her years at Clarence House.

Royal wine waitress Pippa Penny revealed: ‘At the age of 97, she was in hospital having an operation on her hip and she smuggled 12 bottles of Krug champagne into the hospital to make her stay a little more comfortable and enjoyable.

‘A bottle of Krug can fetch up to £150.’

As a result of such extravagant spending, the Queen had to ‘subsidise her mother’s spending to £1.5m a year’, according to Katie Nicholl.

She said: ‘When the Queen Mother died, she actually had an overdraft with Coutss bank of £4m which was left to the Queen to clear.’
