Meghan Markle Dutchess of Sussex and Prince Harry Duke of Sussex are expecting their first child together.
And while they prepare to welcome their little one into the world, rumours started to circulate that George Clooney would be the new arrival’s godfather.
However, the 57-year-old recently shut down all speculation while chatting at a press panel.
According to Australia’s Who magazine, the star was quizzed on whether or not he’d been asked to be a godparent, to which the actor cleared up immediately.
He laughed: ‘Oh yes, I’ll be godfather of the royals apparently,’ before putting all of the rumours to bed: ‘No!’
The star continued: ‘I’m a father of twins, I have enough shit to deal with — literally!’
George and his wife Amal are said to be good friends with the royals, and were even invited to Harry and Meghan’s wedding last summer.
And it sounds as though the father-of-two was the life and soul of the party, as he even poured his own tequila shots.
While chatting to Entertainment Tonight, sources claimed that the Hollywood star played bartender at the bash, and kept the drinks flowing to get everyone in the party spirit.
An insider told the publication: ‘George hopped behind the bar and was actually bartending for a bit. He poured Casamigos drinks and shots and got everyone dancing!’
George has recently spoken out for Meghan where he claimed her treatment reminded him of Princess Diana’s.
He said: ‘They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified
‘She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself.’
