Meghan Markle could be asked under oath about which members of the royal family asked about her son’s skin colour.
As Meghan’s sister, Samantha Markle, files a libel action against her in the United States, her lawyer said the racism accusations ‘need to be explored’.
‘Family matters’ could be part of the court case brought forth by Meghan’s sister, according to lawyer Peter Ticktin.
In November, royal author Omid Scoobie’s book Endgame ‘named’ the two royals accused of making racist comments about her son Archie in the Dutch translation.
Despite the Dutch version of the book naming the pair, Mr Scobie said ‘laws in the United Kingdom prevent me from reporting who they were’.
Samantha Markle has claimed she is the subject of ‘worldwide hatred, contempt and ridicule’ after Meghan and Prince Harry’s Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.
Mr Ticktin told The Sun on Sunday that he will ask the Sussexes to testify under oath as part of the lawsuit.
He said: ‘The royal racists issue needs to be explored. There are reasons why she abandoned her family and turned on her family.
‘This is a person who wants to be able to say horrible things and not really care if she destroyed the lives of people in her family. She doesn’t care if she destroys the monarchy.’
Mr Ticktin said he has been ‘stonewalled’ by Meghan’s lawyers, but plans to file a motion with the court to demand they hand over documents pertaining to the lawsuit.
In March, a judge threw out Samantha’s former defamation case against Meghan Markle.
Samantha Markle, who was seeking £60,636 in damages, brought the defamation case against her younger sister in March 2022.
She alleged the duchess had defamed her by giving information to an unauthorised biography called Finding Freedom and by discussing their relationship on TV.
