Ofcom has confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey has now racked up a total of 5,949 complaints since airing last month after receiving a further 570 complaints between Tuesday March 30 and Monday April 5.
More than 11million people tuned in to see the couple open up about Royal life on March 8 during the two-hour special.
The regulator said it was initially flooded with 4,398 complaints over the episode, and since then the number has risen by more than 1,500.
It is still not clear what the viewer objections were over, or indeed whether Ofcom will take action over them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a number of shocking accusations about the Royal Family in their interview.
One of the biggest talking points came when Meghan revealed she had suicidal thoughts as she struggled with royal life.

Meghan also alleged that an unnamed member of the royal family raised ‘concerns and conversations’ about how dark her son Archie’s skin might be before he was born.
Harry talked about the rift with his brother Prince William saying the ‘relationship is space at the moment’.
Meanwhile, Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan recently gave his first TV interview since leaving the show following the row over the Duchess’ bombshell interview with Oprah.
The 56-year-old spoke to Tucker Carlson after his comments on the Duchess of Sussex’s interview prompted a record-breaking number of complaints to Ofcom.
Elsewhere, the first Netflix series from Harry and Meghan’s Archewell foundation has also recently been announced.
