Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were the hot topic of conversation on Loose Women on Tuesday – and the debate got rather heated.

The Loose Women panel were discussing whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should move to America ‘to take a break’ from the limelight.

Prince Harry recently spoke about the pressures of being in the media, so the couple are going away for six weeks to visit Meghan’s mother Gloria for Thanksgiving.

Sources have also reported that they are using this time to think about moving there permanently.

Coleen Nolan explained to her fellow panelists that the Royal couple should take a break.

‘I don’t think they should make a massive move like that, but I do believe they need a time out,’ she commented.

Ruth Langsford then questioned: ‘ A break from what?’

Coleen responded: ‘Literally, we’re all talking about them all the time. They have not long been married and she’s just had a baby.

‘They need a couple of months to go away to be a normal family.’

Ruth then argued: ‘They are not a normal family though.’

‘Meghan enjoys the press when it’s helping her charity or doing something she’s passionate about,’ Ruth continued. ‘And then there’s the argument of “you can’t have it both ways”.’

The discussion certainly got Loose Women viewers talking as many of them took to social media to share their thoughts.

One viewer tweeted: ‘Just let Harry & Meghan have time to let their lives settle down. Give them time to heal.’

Another commented: ‘Leave Meghan and Harry alone. can understand where your both coming from. But I can understand more about her not wanting to be around it all when all she gets is full-on hated by the UK. She’s targeted more than any other royal, we love Meghan.’

One added: ‘Wow, the Meghan debate on #loosewomen really has divided opinions. Even in this household. She didn’t marry into the Royal family for the job, she married Harry. Other celebrities can promote their work and block their private life out so why can’t Meghan. This world is so sad.’

Another tweeted: ‘Just because she lives a lavish life it doesn’t mean she can’t have an opinion and express how she is feeling. As was said on the show, stop trying to force Meghan to be something or someone she is no.’

Another viewer tweeted: ‘I completely agree that people expect Meghan to fit a mould that she can never fit. She’s an incredible woman and we should be proud to have someone who is so passionate and independent representing the women of Britain/America without slagging her off all the time!’

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
