The Concert For Diana raised £1.2m for charityPrince William and Prince Harry’s Concert for Diana to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother’s death raised £1.2 million for charity, it has been announced.
Eight organisations will receive at least £150,000 each from the proceeds.
A Clarence House spokesman said: “Although the event was first and foremost a tribute concert, both Princes William and Harry were keen that any proceeds should be shared among the eight charities which they had selected to be beneficiaries.”
The Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fund and Harry’s charity, Sentebale, which helps Aids orphans in Lesotho, will be among those receiving money.
The others are organisations that Diana was patron of when she died – the Royal Marsden and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, Centrepoint, The Leprosy Mission, The National Aids Trust and English National Ballet.
