Claims that Diana was pregnant with Dodi al Fayed’s baby have been rubbished by the coroner at her inquest.
Holding up a copy of a photograph which showed the princess in a leopard-print swimsuit Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker questioned the pregnancy claim.
He was pregnant was one he would return to but added that the photograph was taken before the couple’s relationship was believed to have begun.
He also quashed suggestions that the couple we engaged to be married.
Mohamed al Fayed was surprised by the “tone and content” of the coroner’s opening statement at the Diana inquest, his spokesman said outside court today.
The court heard how Diana’s relationship with Dodi blossomed over the summer of 1997.
