‘Carrot top’, ‘ginger minger’, ‘ginger nut’, ‘ging-er’, ‘ginge’ – those lucky enough to be graced with red hair will know these bonus namesakes all too well.
There’s a stigma that comes with being ‘a ginger’ (or strawberry blonde, as I prefer to say) and we all know it.
Associated with pale skin, a fiery temper and being just that little bit weird, redheads have had it tough since they arrived in the school playground.
But looking at the good, the bad and the ugly, here are the pros and cons of being a flame-haired beaut:

It’s not just Prince Harry either – Rupert Grint, Emma Stone, Isla Fisher and Nicole Kidman all rock the red look.

On second thoughts, sometimes even the red-headed boys were roped in. All you ever wanted was to be Baby Spice.

Grey hair is for schmucks.

And even if you do dye it, the red-headed men out there have got a ginger beard poking through to deal with.

Who wants to fade into the background?

And when it happens, the carrot/tomato/Duracell jokes don't seem so far-fetched.

Don't go near red, orange or yellow though.

Even when you actually really are. You know because your mum always tells you so.

To all of the school kids that called you a 'carrot top' - who's laughing now?

Even in the office. I got over the stigma surrounding my hair when I was, like, 10. Please do the same.

There really is support out there for everyone.

This is a proven fact. Thanks mutated MC1R gene!

It means we often get what we want because people are too scared to argue with us.

Some of us are actually really, really nice.
