Harry and Meghan surprised the family of a teacher killed in a school shooting as they celebrated a birthday.
The Sussexes visited the family of Irma Garcia, 48, who was shot dead at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde in Texas in 2022.
The couple brought flowers and a cake, before singing Happy Birthday to the mother of Ms Garcia’s nephew John Martinez.
Posting on Twitter, Mr Martinez wrote: ‘Meghan Markle and Prince Harry came to my house!
‘They’re such a beautiful couple and I’m so blessed – so glad they came to check up on the family.
‘Can’t believe how loving and supportive they are especially to my amazing cousins.
‘What a great experience to be a part of.
‘Meghan Markle singing my mom Happy Birthday was the cutest, most adorable thing ever – she even bought her a cake.’
Garcia, another teacher and 19 children were shot dead by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos on the Morning of May 24.
Ramos crashed his truck into the school before walking into the building with an AR-15 and carrying out his horrific killing spree.
He was eventually shot dead by police.
The Sussexes visit comes after a report into the local police’s response on the day left parents furious.
Officers had waited outside the school for more than an hour during the shooting, despite children inside calling 911 and begging for help.
The Mayor at the time, Don McLaughlin ordered an independent investigation into the handling and a probe was launched.
The resulting report, released on Thursday, admitted some mistakes by police but ultimately defended their actions, prompting outrage from family members of the victims during a City Council presentation.
One person in the audience screamed ‘Coward!’ and some family members angrily walked out of the meeting.
One parent, Kimberly Mata-Rubio, who lost her daughter in the attack said: ‘You said they did it in good faith. You call that good faith?
‘They stood there for 77 minutes.’
Meghan has paid tribute to the victims on previous occasions, including two days after the tragedy when she left flowers at a memorial.
The duchess revealed on Friday she was cyber bullied during her pregnancies as she spoke at a Texas arts festival as part of International Women’s Day.
