As many will know, the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death is fast approaching.
The late monarch passed away in September 2022, at the age of 96, sparking a UK-wide mourning period.
At the time, her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle happened to be in the UK… and appeared at a Windsor Castle walkabout and were also in attendance at her state funeral.
Some will now be wondering if The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to return for the anniversary.
Here’s all we know so far.
Will Prince Harry return to the UK on the anniversary of The Queen’s death?
According to MailOnline, Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK shortly before the anniversary.
The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to appear at an event for charity WellChild in London on September 7 – the day before the anniversary of Her Late Majesty’s death on September 8.
Reports suggest that Harry won’t be paying a visit to his father, King Charles III, or brother William, The Prince of Wales, during the visit.
Indeed, the Royal Family previously confirmed that there won’t be any official event to mark the sad day – and that The King and Queen Camilla will spend the occasion quietly and privately reflecting.
Currently, Their Majesties are summering at Balmoral in Scotland, where the 96-year-old Queen Elizabeth II died ‘peacefully’ last year.
It is also thought that Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, will not be joining Harry in the UK.
And that Harry will only stopover in the UK for a brief spell – before flying out to Dusseldorf, Germany, where his Invictus Games begin on September 9. Meghan is set to make an appearance at the Games later on.
Recently, the Sussexes have been spotted out and about in their home state of California.
Harry was seen enjoying a football – soccer? – match between LAFC and Inter Miami in Los Angeles on September 4.
It appeared he walked past Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz while passing through the BMO Stadium.
Meghan, meanwhile, has been photographed on two occasions enjoying the LA shows of Beyonce’s Renaissance tour.
First, she was pictured at the SoFi Stadium on September 2 alongside Harry, and then again on September 4, when she was snapped with Scandal actress Kerry Washington and Destiny’s Child icon Kelly Rowland.
The sightings come amid swirling rumours that Meghan is planning a Hollywood comeback.
