Paul Burrell has taken aim at Prince Harry again, this time claiming he has ‘gone off the rails’, whilst saying he wished comparisons to Princess Diana would stop.
The former royal butler, 63, worked for Diana for a decade up until her death, and has been vocal in the past about his distaste for Harry’s decision-making in recent years.
Now he has again made his opinion known after it was claimed Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were involved in a ‘near catastrophic’ car chase after being followed by paparazzi.
The reports emerged after the couple attended an awards ceremony in New York City on Tuesday, however their version of events have been questioned after the New York Police Department said that while photographers made the transport ‘challenging’, there were ‘no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests.’
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday to speak about the incident, Paul didn’t hold back.
‘I’m finding it difficult to compute all the different statements,’ he said.
‘I think this is a case of recollections may very.’
He then added he thought the incident had been ‘hyped up’ and labelled it a ‘celebrity storm in a teacup’.
When questioned on whether he had personally spoken to Harry recently Paul admitted they had not, but he still ‘loved and cared’ for Prince’s Harry and William.
However, he said that he believed Harry had ‘gone off the rails’.
‘I wish he wouldn’t keep making comparisons to what’s happened to him and Meghan to Diana, because this car chase through Manhattan wasn’t in any way, shape or form, linked to Diana’s death in Paris,’ he continued.
‘Princess Diana was avoiding the press on the night she died.
‘Meghan and Harry were actually courting the press.’

Later in the segment Paul said he believed that as non-working royals it was up to the couple to pay for their own security that would ‘keep them out of this mess’.
He added: ‘Why are they always in a situation creating a drama?’
Earlier this year Paul found himself in the firing line after branding Harry a ‘hypocrite’.
Speaking ahead of the release of Harry’s memoir Spare, Paul discussed whether Harry might be attending the coronation when speaking on Lorraine.
‘How can he possibly be sat in a House of God in Westminster Abbey where his mother’s funeral was to watch his father be crowned king,’ he said.
‘It seems a little hypocritical to me when what he’s been doing recently is dismantle the monarchy, not build it.’
However, his comments riled many people up, who said that Paul constantly talking about the royal family didn’t make him much better.
