Prince Harry has claimed Prince William ‘screamed and shouted at me’ and King Charles ‘said things that simply weren’t true’ in a meeting discussing him stepping back from the Royal Family – that was ‘specifically designed to exclude’ Meghan Markle.

In explosive new episodes of the couple’s Netflix documentary, Harry claims the Queen ‘sat there quietly and took it all in’ while the chaos unfolded around her

The Duke of Sussex also alleges that the Palace released a statement denying that William had ‘bullied him and Meghan out of the family’ without his permission.

Commenting on the alleged incident, the dad-of-two says: ’They were happy to lie to protect my brother, and yet for three years, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.’

Harry claims private royal secretaries initially rejected the couple’s request to hold a meeting to discuss ‘a blueprint for the way forward’, as well as ‘crazy’ media coverage.

After Meghan flew to Canada, a meeting was arranged at Sandringham, he says.

‘Imagine a conversation, a round-table discussion about the future of your life when the stakes are this high, and you as the mum and the wife, and the target in many regards, aren’t invited to have a seat at the table’, Meghan says.

Harry said he was given ‘five options’ at the meeting – ‘one being all in and no change, five being all out’.

He chose option three – ‘half in, half out’ – describing it as ‘having our own jobs, but also working in support of the Queen’.

‘But it became clear very quickly that goal not up for debate’, he says. ‘It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that just simply weren’t true, and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.

‘But you have to understand, from the family’s perspective, especially from her’s, there are ways of doing things and her ultimate goal, slash responsibility, is the institution.

‘People around her telling her “that proposal, or these two doing XYZ is going to be seen as an attack on the institution”, then she’s going to go on advice she’s given.’

The meeting finished without a solid action plan, and Harry commented on it saying: ‘I think, from their perspective, they had to believe it was more about us and the issues were had, as opposed to their partner, the media and themselves and that relationship that was causing so much pain for us. They saw what they wanted to see.’

Harry went onto recall a story in the media that claimed William ‘bullied us out of the family’.

He claims he was ‘told’ about a joint statement that was put out from him and William, ‘squashing’ the story and naming it ‘false, offensive and potentially harmful’.

It was labelled as ‘a sign of public unity’ between the brothers in news reports.

‘I couldn’t believe it’, Harry said. ‘No one had asked me, no one asked my permission to put my name to a statement like that.

‘I rang M and told her, and she burst into floods of tears because within four hours, they were happy to lie to protect my brother, and yet for three years, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.’

Meghan adds: ‘Suddenly, what clicked in my head was “it’s never going to stop”. Every rumour, every negative thing, every lie, everything that I knew wasn’t true and the Palace knew wasn’t true and internally they knew wasn’t true, that was just being allowed to fester’.
