Loose Women’s Jane Moore questioned a specific scene in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary which showed them embracing their royal titles – despite officially stepping down from their duties.
The first three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s six-part series launched on the streaming platform on Thursday, with the couple revealing intimate details about their lives and relationship, including how they met on Instagram.
Harry and Meghan’s explosive series has been met with a lot of backlash, as the programme documents their controversial exit from the Royal Family in 2020.
During Thursday’s Loose Women, hosts Charlene White, Katie Piper, Kelle Bryan and Jane discussed the claims made in the first three episodes.
The TV personality said: ‘For me, the one thing in the three episodes that just jars me is that they keep doing this thing of “we want a normal life,” and they cut to a clip of them turning up to an airbase and meeting a lot of ordinary families and suddenly it’s like “ladies and gentlemen… the Duke and Duchess.”
‘They come into this room as a royal couple who don’t want to be part of the royal family. Drop the titles, drop the titles.

‘Still a Prince, you were born a Prince, but be Haz and Meg and do your work and I think that will have a lot more validity. Don’t hang on to the titles of an institution that you don’t like.’
Despite this, the 60-year-old presenter believes the documentary has been ‘well made.’
She added: ‘The actual first three episodes, I think, it’s very well made. After the first three episodes, I think yes, it does. And I think it’s helped enormously actually, obviously, it is their side of the story, but I think they’ve been quite fair in how they presented a lot of things.
King Charles and Prince William are reportedly ready to issue a ‘swift and robust’ response to any ‘unjust claims’ in the programme – but so far have remained publicly silent.
But it has been claimed the Prince and Princess of Wales won’t actually watch the documentary themselves.
A source told The Mirror: ‘There’s a real feeling in the camp that Harry and Meghan are making a lot of noise and there isn’t much more to say.
‘But preparations are being made for all outcomes, especially if there are unjust accusations being made.’
