Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revealed a rare picture of Archie celebrating his first birthday in their long-awaited Netflix documentary.
They have previously kept the three-year-old firmly out of the spotlight since leaving Britain for California in 2020.
But royal fans are now being treated to never-before-seen moments of the Sussex children in the explosive docuseries.
Footage shows Archie seeing snow for the first time, running on a beach and snuggling up to his parents at home.
One clip shows him running alongside Harry and Meghan in the grounds of their $14 million mansion, while another shows him being rolled around on a suitcase.
Meghan said: ‘We’ve been really conscious about protecting our kids as best we can and also understanding the role they play in this really historical family.’
Harry has been vocal about wanting to shield Archie and his one-year-old sister Lilibet from the same public scrutiny he and Prince William endured.
The Sussexes decided not to pose for the usual photographs on the steps of the hospital when Archie was born in May 2019.
William and Kate have also sought to limit the exposure of their children while juggling the reality of their public positions.
They permitted three reporters to attend the first day at a new school for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis earlier this year.
It was a far cry from the days when scaffolding was erected outside William and Harry’s school for the world’s media to watch.
About half a dozen protection officers were on hand dressed discreetly on their first day and kept carefully out of sight.
