Prince Harry has paid a touching tribute to his ‘granny’ who he said is now ‘reunited’ with his grandpa.
The Duke of Sussex said his family can ‘smile’ knowing the late monarch is ‘together in peace’ with Prince Philip, who passed away aged 99 last year.
‘You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over,’ he wrote.
Harry fondly looked back at the ‘first meetings’ he had with the Queen, from his earliest childhood memories to the moment she met his ‘darling wife’ and hugged their great-grandchildren.
He also said he will ‘honour’ Charles after his father mentioned him in his first address to the nation as King.
‘I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas,’ Charles said in a speech on Friday.
Charles has had a fraught relationship with his youngest son after Harry stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020.

In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen—and in mourning her loss—we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty.
She was globally admired and respected. Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her everlasting legacy.
Let us echo the words she spoke after the passing of her husband, Prince Philip, words which can bring comfort to all of us now: “Life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings.”
Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.
I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over.
And as it comes to first meetings, we now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III.

After relocating to California, the Sussexes gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey discussing what they said were difficult times after Meghan Markle married into The Firm.
During the discussion, Harry claimed that ‘my family literally cut me off financially. I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this.’
He said of his father: ‘Of course I will always love him but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that.’
