Adelaide Cottage might not have been a royal residence as well-known as the likes of Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, but it’s now the place which the future king calls home.
Prince William and wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, moved to the Berkshire home earlier this summer, to be nearer to William’s late grandmother, the Queen, at Windsor Castle.
Many fans are wondering just whereabouts Adelaide Cottage is, especially because the location played an important role in uniting William with his brother, Prince Harry.
With well-publicised tension between the William, Harry, and Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, fans were pleased to see them all unite on a walkabout around Windsor, collecting flowers and messages of condolence from fans.
Since Harry and Meghan were in nearby Frogmore Cottage, which they’ve called home since their wedding in2018, it’s reported that William reached out to his brother to join him on the walk – something the Queen ‘would have wanted.’
So just how close are the cottages?
How far apart are Adelaide Cottage and Frogmore Cottage?
The two cottages are around 900 yards away from each other, which is less than a 10-minute walk.
Separated by two fields, it wouldn’t have taken long for Harry and Meghan to meet up with William and Kate ahead of their heart-warming walkabout around Windsor, where the brothers and their wives – dubbed the Fab Four in the past – met with well-wishers.

Located on the eastern side of the Windsor Castle grounds, Adelaide Cottage is in Windsor Home Park, Berkshire.
Set in a private royal park, the grounds are looked after by the Crown Estate.

Adelaide Cottage is very close to St George’s Chapel where Prince Philip’s funeral was held, and where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding ceremony took place.
Adelaide Cottage was built in 1831. It was commissioned by King William IV for his wife Queen Adelaide, from whom the four-bedroom cottage gets its name.
Other residents in the past have included the Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret.
Now a Grade II listed building, it was renovated back in 2015.
A history of Frogmore Cottage, the place Harry and Meghan called home
The 10-bedroomed Frogmore Cottage is where Harry and Meghan moved in back in April 2019, before their exit from life as working royals and relocating to the United States.

The couple still have access to the cottage when in the United Kingdom.
Frogmore Cottage is located within Home Park, the 655-acre private Royal Park of Windsor Castle.
Previous tenants of the property include Harry and William’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their child, August.
