Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to return to the UK in the next few days for the first time since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

They are set to attend various charity events including in London and Manchester and Germany, where they will both mark the one year countdown to the Invictus Games.

It is not yet known what day they will land but it is unlikely the pair will visit Prince William or Kate while they are across the pond.

It is not known whether the California-based couple will visit the Queen at Balmoral but it is unlikely they will bring their children over – Archie and Lilibet.

Meghan is set to give a keynote speech on Monday in Manchester at the One Young World summit – for which she is a counsellor.

The couple then head to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event which is taking place on Tuesday, before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards in London where Harry will deliver a speech on Thursday.

The visit comes just days after Meghan’s wide ranging interview with New York based magazine The Cut, where she said it takes ‘a lot of effort’ to forgive and hinted that she can ‘say anything’.

Meghan said ‘just by existing’ she and Harry were ‘upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy’ before they stepped down as senior working royals.

Their visit falls on the same week the new prime minister – either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak is announced as ballots closed yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Queen will appoint the new prime minister at Balmoral instead of at Buckingham Palace due to increasing health concerns.

Boris Johnson and either Ms Truss or Mr Sunak will travel to Balmoral on Tuesday for the key audiences.

Security will be at the forefront of Prince Harry’s mind during the visit, as he is currently launching legal action over a decision not to allow him to pay for police protection for himself and his family when in the UK.

The royal family are also braced for Harry’s tell-all-book about his life, which is expected to be published in late 2022.

The Sussexes will be staying at Frogmore Cottage during their visit, just minutes away from the Cambridges’ new home.
