Prince Charles has shared an archive photo of him cradling William as a baby on his son’s 39th birthday.

The pair are sat in a drawing room at Kensington Palace which is now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges’ home.
Another photo showed Charles, Camilla and William at the opening of the first ever Invictus Games in 2014, an event founded by Prince Harry.
A message on Charles’ official social media accounts, which published the pictures, wished William a ‘very Happy Birthday’.

Spokespeople for the couple thanked well-wishers for their ‘kind messages’.

He also marked Father’s Day with a photo taken in 2004 showing him sharing a joke with William and Harry at a charity polo match.
Meanwhile Buckingham Palace shared a 70-year-old photo of Philip, the Queen and her father King George VI beaming at an infant Charles as he giggled while sat on a statue in the gardens at Balmoral.
