Prince Harry has spoken to Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge for the first time since his explosive Oprah interview – but talks were ‘unproductive’, a friend has claimed.
Meghan Markle’s friend Gayle King revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were glad to have broken the ice, but little progress was made in mending fences.
Speaking to CBS, she said: ‘Well, I did actually call them to see how they are feeling, it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and his father, too.
‘The word I was given was, those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation.’
The couple made a number of shocking allegations about the Royal Family, including that one unidentified member had concerns about how dark their son Archie’s skin would be when he was born.
Meghan told Oprah she had suicidal feelings after moving to England – but allegedly was told she could not get help.
Meanwhile, Harry claimed his brother and dad are ‘trapped’ in the Royal Family, adding that a ‘lack of support and understanding’ had led to his decision to leave.
The duke said: ’I love William to bits. He’s my brother. We’ve been through hell together. We have a shared experience, but we were on different paths.’

He later added: ‘The relationship is space at the moment. And time heals all things, hopefully.’
Prince William spoke out against the interview last week, telling a member of the press the royals are ‘very much not a racist family’.
Speaking to Oprah about his dad, Harry said: ‘There’s a lot to work through there. I feel really let down because he’s been through something similar. He knows what pain feels like, and Archie’s his grandson.
‘At the same time I will always love him, but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened.
‘I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship, but they only know what they know.’
The Duchess of Sussex added: ‘Or what they’re told.’
It comes as Harry’s grandfather Prince Philip returns to Windsor Palace to be with the Queen after recovering from an infection and undergoing a heart procedure.
The Duke of Edinburgh spent 28 nights in hospital – his longest ever stay.
