An intruder tried to enter Harry and Meghan’s home twice, according to a new report.
Nickolas Brooks, 37, trespassed at the couple’s $14.65 million (£11 million) mansion in southern California during the Christmas period, according to law enforcement sources quoted by TMZ.
After the first intrusion, on Christmas Eve, he was apparently let off with a warning. But he came back on Boxing Day and was arrested, then charged with one count of misdemeanor trespassing.
Other sources told the tabloid Brooks had driven all the way from Ohio – 2,400 miles – to get to the Sussexes’ home.
It is not yet known why he wanted to get into the nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom house.
It comes after Prince Harry opened up about having his security pulled when he and his family quit as senior working royals.
In the explosive interview, he said: ‘The biggest concern was that while we were in Canada, in someone else’s house, and then I got told, short notice, that security was going to be removed.

‘So suddenly it dawned on me: “Hang on a second, the borders could be closed, we’re going to have our security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be? The world knows where we are. It’s not safe. It’s not secure.”
‘Their justification is a change in status, of which I pushed back and said, “Well is there a change of threat or risk?”
‘And after many weeks of waiting, eventually, I got the confirmation that, no, the risk and threat hasn’t changed, but [it was] due to our change of status, which we would no longer be official working members of the royal family.
‘I never thought I would have my security removed, because I was born into this position. I inherited the risk. So that was a shock to me.’

It has been estimated that the couple’s security costs $5.5 million a year (£3.9 million) which used to be covered by British taxpayers.
Prince Harry told Oprah that the couple used the money Diana had left him and his brother- thought to be £21 million – to make their new life possible.
He also said that being ‘financially cut off by the Royal Family’ is the reason the couple started looking into deals with Spotify and Netflix.
They signed a $100 million (£72 million) arrangement with Netflix that will allow them to make documentaries, series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming.
The Sussexes are also planning to host and produce podcasts on Spotify, in a recent $25 million (£18 million) deal.
