Thomas Markle has vowed he will not stop speaking to the press about his daughter until she and Prince Harry resume contact with him.
Meghan and her father have not spoken since before her wedding in 2018, however questions about their broken relationship were not aired in the main bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.
In clips released later, Meghan said she found it difficult to discuss the fact her father had been working with UK tabloids behind her back. She told Oprah she felt ‘betrayed’ after Thomas told her he was ‘absolutely not’ the source.
She said: ‘I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child.’
Speaking on Good Morning Britain this morning, Thomas said: ‘I’m very disappointed about it. I’ve apologised about this thing, what happened, at least 100 times or so.
‘The bottom line is I’ve never heard back from Meghan or Harry in any way shape or form.
‘When they say that I’m taking advantage of the press well basically what I do, because I haven’t heard from them is I’ll do a story for the press.
‘If I haven’t heard from them in 30 days I’ll do another story for the press. And I haven’t heard from them. I would love to hear from them.’
‘I’d like to say sorry for what I’ve done but this was two years ago. I’ve tried to make up for it,’ he continued. ‘But these stories in the paper are because I haven’t heard from you.’
He said now the couple live around ’70 miles away’ from him in their Los Angeles home, he wants to reconcile and meet grandson Archie for the first time.
‘I’m available any time we can get together. I’d love to get together. I’d like to see my grandson,’ he told the show.
During the Oprah interview, his daughter and son-in-law made damning allegations of racism against the royal family, revealing that an unnamed member had raised ‘concerns’ over how dark the skin of their unborn child might be.
When asked about the claims, Thomas said: ‘I have great respect for the royals and I don’t think the British royal family are racist at all. I don’t think the British are racist.’

On the comments about Archie’s skin tone, he said he was ‘guessing and hoping it was just a dumb question’.
‘It could just be that simple, it could be somebody asked a stupid question, rather than being a total racist,’ he added.
He also criticised his daughter’s interview as ‘way over the top’ in light of Prince Philip’s hospitalisation and the Queen’s age.
Echoing his daughter’s allegations about a lack of protection from the Palace amid media attacks on the family, Thomas said he was ‘left out to dry’.
‘No one took any time to protect any member of our family. We were attacked by the press every day,’ he said. ‘No one was there to care for us.’
Meghan had emotionally told how she felt suicidal in the face of media attacks and a lack of support from the Palace, claiming she was refused mental health help from the ‘institution’.
When asked about his daughter’s suicidal thoughts when pregnant, Thomas said: ‘It really did upset me… It would have been easy for her to reach out to me.’
But he added: ‘I’ve been pushed around and knocked down for one thing I did, for one big mistake I made, and I’ve apologised for it as many times as I possibly can.
‘However, I love my daughter very much. Had I known she was having psychological problems, I would have been there for her.
‘Biggest problem here is she has pretty much ghosted all of her family on her mother’s side and my side, so she really had no-one to reach out to.’
