Harry and William plan to present a united front when they unveil a statue in honour of Princess Diana over the summer.
It is claimed Harry and Meghan want to ‘move on’ now they have given their side of the story in the bombshell Oprah interview, and the brothers hope to heal their rift.
A source close to the couple told The Telegraph: ‘It was something they felt they wanted and needed to do but now they have done it, they feel a line has been drawn under that chapter of their lives and they want to move on.’
The Duke of Sussex reportedly considers the unveiling of his mum’s statue to be ‘a priority’ this year.
A statement from the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex said: ‘It has been 20 years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue.
‘Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.’
They commissioned the statue in 2017 to be ready in time for what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday. She was killed in August 1997 in a car crash in Paris, at the age of 36.
The statue is designed by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, whose works include the portrait of the Queen that appears on British coins.

William and Harry convened a committee to commission the works and privately raised money to fund the project.
It will be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1, Diana’s birthday. It is not thought either Meghan or Kate will attend the event.
There is still uncertainty about whether Prince Harry will also attend other upcoming events such as the Trooping the Colour on June 12, or the Duke of Edinburgh’s 100th birthday on June 10.
It comes as he and Meghan are expecting their second child – revealed overnight to be a girl – in the summer.
The couple’s explosive two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey aired last night and has sent shockwaves across the world.
Harry told Oprah of his relationship with his brother: ‘The relationship is “space” at the moment. Time heals all things, hopefully.’
Meghan revealed she had thoughts of suicide and self-harm as she struggled with royal life.
She also alleged an unnamed member of the royal family raised ‘concerns’ about how dark her son Archie’s skin might be when he’s born.
The explosive interview, which originally aired on CBS, will be shown on ITV at 9pm tonight.
