Prince Harry has been pictured volunteering for a non-profit organisation supporting veterans and their families through the coronavirus crisis.

The Duke of Sussex was spotted packing and distributing food parcels to military veterans and their families in Compton, Los Angeles last week.

It comes as the US Covid-19 death toll climbs to 248,000, with more than 11 million people infected across the country since the pandemic hit.

Harry, who served in the armed forces for a decade, was photographed wearing blue jeans, a polo shirt and a black face covering as he offered his support to the Walker Family Events Foundation.

The dad-of-one was praised on the foundation’s Instagram page as being ‘very humble and kind’.

A post from the organiser of the event read: ‘Today I had the honor of meeting and working alongside Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

‘He joined us in volunteering at Compton VFW for the Operation Nourish program packing and distributing food to our £Compton neighbors. He is very humble and kind.’

A spokesman for Harry has refused to comment on the outing, saying: ‘It was a private day.’

The royal’s trip comes after he was accused of doing a photoshoot at a cemetery as a ‘publicity stunt’ on Remembrance Sunday.

Images of the duke and wife Meghan Markle dressed in black emerged earlier in November after Buckingham Palace allegedly refused his request to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in his name.

Some online believed the sentiment of the day had been ‘missed’ by the photos, while others named them ‘tasteless’.

However, rumours of a publicity stunt were shot down by a source close to Harry who told The Sun the military family is ‘one of the most important things’ to him and ‘will always remain so’.

Buckingham Palace refused to comment on his request to lay a wreath – but The Times reported the decision to reject it was made because he has stepped back from royal duties.
