Prince Harry is apparently a Shaggy fan – at least, that’s what Shaggy himself is saying.
The pair first met in the star’s native Jamaica, when Harry was on a Royal visit to the island in 2012.
And apparently, Hazza couldn’t resist reciting the lyrics of the star’s biggest hit at him.
Well, he’s only human.
‘When Prince Harry came to Jamaica he came to visit the Bustamante Hospital for Children,’ Shaggy explains in a new interview with The Guardian.
‘My daughter thought he was supposed to be a prince on a horse, like in her storybook. He turned to me and said, “Wow, she’s just so not impressed,” and then he sang, It Wasn’t Me.
‘So Prince Harry is a Shaggy fan!’
The Angel singer – who reached his career peak with the multi-million-selling album Hot Shot in the year 2000 – also discussed meeting The Queen in 2018.
‘I’d like to think that the Queen is a big Shaggy fan,’ he said.
‘I played at her 92nd birthday party at the Royal Albert Hall.
‘Afterwards I was standing right beside her. It would have been crazy if she was like, “Hello, Mr Boombastic.”’
Somehow we can’t imagine that ever happening…
In other Shaggy news, the dad-of-five recently opened up about being separated from his family over lockdown.
‘It’s bad. I speak to my wife [Rebecca Packer] every day and I miss her so much.’
