A man adopted as a child and convinced he is the secret love child of Prince Charles and Camilla has launched a legal bid to force the heir to the throne to have a DNA test.
Simon Dorante-Day, 53, said court clerks laughed when he filed papers with the High Court in Australia and admitted three previous legal claims have been thrown out.
But the engineer, who moved to Sydney after he was adopted, is refusing to give up his ’40 year search for the truth’.
Simon was born in Gosport, Hampshire, in April 1966 and was adopted when he was 18-months-old by Karen and David Day.
If his bizarre claim is true, it would mean he was conceived in 1965 when Charles was 17 and Camilla, 18. The couple are understood to have met in their early 20s in 1971.
He has previously posted pictures on social media of himself as a young man next to photographs of Camilla and other members of the Parker-Bowles family in a desperate attempt to compare likeness.
Simon claims his adoptive grandparents Winifred and Ernest worked for the Queen and Prince Philip as a cook and a gardener and told him ‘many times’ that he was ‘Charles and Camilla’s child’.
He said previously: ‘I know it sounds unbelievable, but anything I say is check-able.
‘I’m simply a man looking for my biological parents, and every road has led me back to Camilla and Charles.’
Simon filed legal papers just before Christmas and said they have been sent to a High Court judge in Sydney to review and assess.
He believes the palace would have learnt of his legal action and expects it would have caused ‘panic’ for the Queen.
He even thinks the furore surrounding Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave royal life and the subsequent Sandringham crisis summit earlier this month was a ‘cover-up’ over his secret birth.
He said: ‘While the whole world was thinking they were talking about Harry, we believe this legal battle would’ve also been on the agenda and discussed.’
Simon added: ‘It’s definitely the most significant step I’ve taken so far – I’ve had to force a deadline, hold them to a date, because we need answers.’
The British national, who calls himself ‘Prince Simon’ online, claimed on social media to have ‘compelling evidence’ proving his claim but added: ‘As things are all part of the court case at the moment I can’t discuss much further.’
He told New Idea: ‘My grandmother, who worked for the Queen, told me outright that I was Camilla and Charles’ son many times.’
His wife Elvianna added: ‘We believe that Camilla fell pregnant to Charles and, with the help of her family and the royals, kept Simon until he was 18 months old.’
Simon, who now lives in Queensland, is requesting a mediation session and a ‘Statement of Paternity’.
