With all the buzz around Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s big announcement they are stepping back from royal duties, the fact it’s Kate Middleton’s birthday today has been somewhat overshadowed.
We’re not saying they stole her thunder, but we imagine the attention of the royals is sitting elsewhere today.
But never fear Kate, we’re thinking of you!
So, what age is the Duchess of Cambridge and what are her birthday plans?
How old is Kate Middleton?
Kate was born on 9 January 1982, making her 38 years old.
She is approximately six months older than her husband, Prince William, who was born on 21 June 1982.
How will Kate Middleton celebrate her birthday?
The Duchess marked her birthday like a true royal, having started her celebrations last week.
She and William invited some of their closest friends over for a soirée at their country home, Anmer Hall, based in Norfolk.
Guests included Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as David and Rose, Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley.
Other attendees included close friends James Meade and his wife Laura as well as Tom van Straubenzee and his fiance – also a teacher at George and Charlotte’s school – Lucy Lanigan O’Keeffe.
Kate wore a blue fedora hat and mauve jacket to celebrate the day.
Last year, she held two celebrations for her birthday – one in Norfolk as well as a tea party on her actual birthday, together with her children.
It’s not confirmed whether she’ll do the same this year, but if anyone deserves a week-long birthday celebration, it’s Kate!
