
Prince Harry is to be pulled out of Afghanistan immmediately after it was revealed he had been serving in the Army for 10 weeks, the Ministry of Defence said.
Military commanders have drawn up emergency plans for his removal from the country because of fears over his safety.
“It will be relatively quick, and it will be an ordered and dignified retreat, but there’s no need to rush it,” a source at the ministry said.
The move, which will be a bitter blow to the prince, came after foreign websites leaked details of his deployment.
The leaks finally forced the breakdown last night of an agreement by the British media not to report the fact that Harry was in Afghanistan.
