Neighbours of Meghan and Harry were told what they can and can’t do

Prince Harry and Meghan’s neighbours have been warned not to ask to see baby Archie or even stroke the couple’s dogs, it has been reported.

Those living close to Frogmore Cottage, on the Windsor estate, were handed a list of ‘do and don’t commandments’ at a recent residents’ meeting.

Other banned things include instigating a conversation with the Royals, offering to babysit their son, or posting a letter through their letter box.

While even if one of the Duke and Duchess’ dogs runs over to a member of the public, they are under no circumstances allowed to touch it.

Residents in the area told The Sun the rules were ‘over the top’ and weren’t even demanded by the Queen when she visits.

One local said: ‘It’s extraordinary. We’ve never heard anything like it. Everyone who lives on the estate works for the royals and knows how to behave respectfully.

‘We aren’t told how to behave around the Queen like this. She’s very happy for people to greet her.’

Meghan and Harry became proud parents to Archie Harrison on May 6, and have been enjoying their time together as a family in private.

They also have two dogs, Meghan’s rescue beagle named Guy and a black Labrador bought together last September.

Around 400 people live in the private Home Park and Great Park area of Windsor, which is run by the Crown Estate.

Residents include royal staff, officials who live in grace-and-favour houses and Crown Estate employees.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said Meghan and Harry had no knowledge of the ‘dos and don’ts’ list being handed out.

He said: ‘The Duke and Duchess had no knowledge of this briefing and no involvement in the concept or the content.

‘This was a well-intentioned briefing to help a small local community know how to welcome two new residents and help them with any potential encounter.

‘There was no handout or letter. The talk was undertaken by a local manager and was widely viewed as being well received.’
