The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are rubbing shoulders with showbiz royalty tonight at the premiere of the Lion King.
The happy couple were met with cheers from the crowd in London’s Leicester Square, as they walked hand-in-hand to the tune of Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
Meghan, 37, dazzled the crowd in her £3,500 Jason Wu black sheer panel dress while Harry, 34, donned a classic suit and bow tie.
They giggled and smiled as they walked down the specially designed yellow carpet and waved to well-wishers outside the Odeon Luxe.
Harry and Meghan are set to spend this evening evening mingling with celebrities like Beyonce and Donald Glover, who star in the remake of the 1994 classic.
Men behind the music Pharrell Williams and Sir Elton John, who composed the music for the original, also appeared at the premiere.
The evening is in aid of the Duke’s ongoing conservation work through the Royal Foundation.
It’s been a busy week for the Duchess, who took two-month-old baby Archie Harrison to watch his dad and uncle William play polo against each other on Wednesday.
She also visited Wimbledon twice, most recently with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, to watch her friend Serena Williams play in the women’s final.
When asked he he wanted to remake the smash hit, Lion King director Jon Favreau said: ‘There are certain stories that you want to see live on because they hold up so well, and they speak to each generation.
‘And sometimes you can use technology to make it exciting and different for younger people who might not be as open to the older film techniques.’
‘Whenever there’s a new generation, there’s an opportunity to take the stories that have worked so well and present them again. To keep them alive.’
The film, which is released on July 19, keeps the plot and characters from the original.
