Meghan and Harry’s first child has been given a name and rightly his own page on the Royal Family’s website.
However, instead of introducing Archie Harrison as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child, Royal.co.uk referred to the royal baby as Kate and William’s son in an awkward PR blunder.
Royal.co.uk wrote: ‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 05.26am on Monday May 6.
‘He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne.
‘Archie weighed 7lb 30oz and The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.’
It has since been updated to ‘the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,’ but not before eagle-eyed fans shared it to social media.
Naomi Crussell wrote: ‘Then goes on to say the Duke of Sussex was present at the birth – makes for hilarious reading.’
Another said: ‘Archie skipped ahead in the line to the throne if he’s the first child of the duke and duchess of Cambridge lol.’
Meghan and Harry gave a glimpse of baby Archie in his first ever royal photocall this morning.
Just hours later, they announced his name on their joint Instagram account.
The name Archie came as a surprise for many, and was even called one of the ‘biggest surprises in royal betting history’ by bookmakers.
Meghan and Harry have made the personal decision of not using a title for their son.
He will be known as Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the last name a tribute to both the Queen and Prince Philip’s last name.
As the first son of a duke, Archie could have become Earl of Dumbarton – one of Harry’s subsidiary titles, of even Lord Archie.
