Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have sent a loving message to Princess Charlotte on Instagram despite unfollowing Kate and William’s official Kensington Royal account.
Alongside new pictures to mark Charlotte’s fourth birthday, the Sussex Royal account wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Charlotte! Lots of love, H and M xo’.
But eagle-eyed social media fans have already spotted that Meghan and Harry unfollowed all royal accounts on Instagram yesterday – including Kate and Wills’.
There is a good reason for it.
Throughout May, the Sussex Royal account is only following 16 specific accounts to mark Mental Health Awareness Month in the US and Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, which runs from May 13 – 19.
In a caption alongside some of the chosen accounts’ images, the couple – who are expecting to announce the birth of their first baby any day now – said: ‘We are hoping to shine a light on several Instagram accounts that promote mental well-being, mental fitness, body positivity, self-care, and the importance of human connection – to not just hear each other, but to listen.’
Meghan and Harry told followers: ‘We invite you to explore the extraordinary stories of strength, and the commitment to kindness as seen in the above accounts.
‘Each month we will honour this same concept and change the accounts we solely follow based on a different theme or cause.’
Among the accounts being championed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are those of authors Matt Haig and Bryony Gordon, the i weigh account created by TV presenter and actress Jameela Jamil, as well as Heads Together, the mental health charity Harry set up with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
All eyes are on the Sussex Royal Instagram account as royal fans across the globe await news of the Royal Baby, amid mounting speculation Meghan has already given birth in secret.
Kensington Palace issued a note yesterday that seemed to hint he or she may already have arrived as Prince Harry will be visiting the Netherlands next week.
The Duke of Sussex has an official engagement in Amsterdam, with a royal aide saying the last minute confirmation is a sign he will have completed his two-week paternity leave by then.
The source said: ‘He had always planned to go but with the birth of his child due it was not announced in advance in case he was no longer able to attend.
‘He is pleased he is able to attend.’
Kensington Palace said: ‘His Royal Highness will then travel to The Hague to officially launch the one year countdown to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020.’
On Wednesday there was speculation Meghan had given birth because she and Harry were visited by the Queen at their home, Frogmore Cottage.
However, there has been no official confirmation yet that the baby has arrived and it was claimed that visit happened over Easter to welcome them to their new house.
