When did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle start dating?
Harry and Meghan first started dating in July 2016 after meeting in May that same year.
They tried to keep their relationship private, but after a leak in November that year which resulted in what could only be described as a media frenzy, Meghan and Harry had to go public.
Prince Harry clearly wasn’t too happy with the situation, with a statement from Kensington Palace hitting out at the ‘wave of abuse and harassment’ that Meghan faced.
The statement further read: ‘Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.
‘It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms Markle should be subjected to such a storm.
‘He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.’
Following this unfortunate leak, the two made their first appearance as a couple in public when Meghan attended an official royal engagement at the Toronto Invictus Games in September 2017.
On 27 November that year, Kensington Palace announced that they were engaged to be married.
When they got married the following May, Meghan became the Duchess of Sussex, Countess of Dumbarton and Baroness Kilkeel.
Where did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry go on their honeymoon?
That is one of the best kept royal secrets, as Harry and Meghan managed to jet off to their honeymoon without a single leak betraying their destination.
We only know that they delayed their honeymoon so that the could attend Prince Charles’ 70th birthday garden party on 22 May, and came back in time for Trooping the Colour on 9 June.
Rumoured locations such as a Canadian luxury resort denied that they had made a booking, and it is claimed that only the Queen and Prince William knew where they went.
