William to embark on next stage of his military careerPrince William is set to embark on the next stage of his military career after completing specialised training.
The second-in-line to the throne is now a fully fledged armoured reconnaissance troop leader in the Household Cavalry’s Blues and Royals, like his brother Prince Harry, after almost five months of instruction.
The 25-year-old Prince, who will one day be head of the Armed Forces, is equipped with the skills to lead a troop of 11 soldiers and four Scimitar reconnaissance vehicles.
But, like Harry, it is not known whether he will serve abroad in a conflict zone. William’s brother was gearing up for a tour of duty in Iraq with his regiment but it was announced in May he would not be deployed following “specific threats” against him.
