Piers Morgan has launched a blistering attack on Meghan Markle accusing her of ‘acting her way to the top.’
The TV presenter pulled no punches, claiming that his one-time friend had ‘ghosted’ him once she met someone more important.
The American actress and the journalist were friends at the time she started dating Prince Harry.
It is said they went for drinks together and she would even feed him future episodes of her TV show Suits before it had aired in the UK.
She left drinks with Piers to head to her first date with the royal and when news of their romance broke, Piers wrote: ‘Meghan Markle is perfect princess material.’

On Good Morning Britain, he launched into a scathing tirade about the 37-year-old amid several reports over the last two weeks about her ‘demanding’ behaviour.
Piers said: ‘I’ve had my own experience with her, which was not great to be honest. I knew her for about a year and a half.
‘I got on with her very well and then “bang” she met someone more important. Immediately ghosted.’
‘I never heard from her ever again and the old slippery slope ladder had gone up and she social climbed her way out of my orbit.

The move has prompted speculation of a rift between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the newlyweds.
A series of stories have since emerged painting Meghan in an unflattering light, saying she has been at odds with sister-in-law Kate.

Kensington Palace has refused to provide a running commentary on all the rumours while the Cambridge and Sussex clans will be spending Christmas together at Sandringham in a show of unity.
Journalist Radhika Sanghani labelled Piers’ comments ‘absolutely ridiculous’, as she appeared on the show.
She added Meghan and Harry were a ‘great married couple’ and later took to Twitter to say the negativity around the latest royal was both ‘racist and sexist.’
