Prince Harry couldn’t hide his tender side as he was reunited with a 98-year-old fan for the third time.
After finding Daphne Dunne among a crowd in Sydney, Harry told her: ‘I was looking for you earlier and hoped you’d be here. It’s so good to see you again.’
The Duke of Sussex then proudly introduced Mrs Dunne to his pregnant wife Meghan Markle.
The duchess told Mrs Dunne, who met Harry in Australia in 2015 and 2017, that the couple ‘might have out little one with us’ on their next visit.
Meghan said: ‘I’m so glad I got to meet you. Harry has told me all about you and your special bond, it’s so lovely you came to see us, thank you.’
Heartwarming footage of their reunion showed the widow extending her arms before Harry swooped in for a big hug.
Mrs Dunne fondly touched the prince’s cheek before grasping Meghan’s hands and congratulating her on the baby news when the duchess crouched down to talk to her.
She said: ‘It was lovely to meet the duchess, Meghan. Harry is a wonderful man and I’m so happy he had found happiness.
‘They both deserve the absolute world together.’
Mrs Dunne was wearing the Victoria Cross that was posthumously awarded to her first husband when she met Harry for the first time.
Lieutenant Albert Chowne was just 25 when he was killed in an attack on a Japanese machine gun post in Papua New Guinea in 1945.
Harry was on a month-long attachment with the Australian Defence Force when they met in 2015 – and planted a kiss on Mrs Dunne’s cheek in a memorable moment.
