Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed a new addition to their family.
No, we’re not talking about a royal baby, but a royal dog.
Last week, it was reported that they had adopted a black labrador.
According to Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, they have named it ‘Oz’.
It is not clear why they have chosen the name, although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to visit Australia in October in their first foreign tour as a couple.
Their trip down under will coincide with the opening of the Invictus Games in Sydney, reports MailOnline.
Meghan, 37, brought one of her dogs, Guy the beagle, over from Canada, but was said to be devastated when she had to leave her labrador-shepherd cross Bogart behind when she moved to Kensington Palace
Bogart was deemed too old to travel and is now living with Meghan’s friends.
Before becoming a member of the royal family, Meghan posted multiple photos of Guy and Bogart, and referred to them as ‘her boys’.
Unfortunately, main members of the royal family are not permitted to have personal social media accounts, and Meghan deleted hers before getting engaged.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have featured their cocker spaniel ‘Lupo’ in a few official portraits with Prince George, so there may be hope that we could get a glimpse of Meghan and Harry’s new addition.
