Thomas Markle has compared the royal family to Scientologists because of their ‘cult-like secrecy’.
Meghan Markle’s father made the outrageous comparision because he claims he has not had contact with his daughter since her wedding to Prince Harry in May.
He claims his attempts to get in contact with the Duchess of Sussex have been met with a ‘wall of silence’.
Speaking to The Sun from his home in Rosarito, Mexico, Mr Markle said: ‘They are either like Scientologists or the Stepford family.
‘If they hear anybody say anything they just lock the doors. They need to speak up!
‘They are cult-like — like Scientology — because they are secretive.
‘They close the door, pull the shades down and put their fingers in their ears so they don’t have to hear.’
It is the latest public outburst from the 74-year-old former lighting director against Kensington Palace and he claims Meghan has ‘cut him out of her life’.
In an interview with the Mail on Sunday he even suggested it would be ‘easier’ for his daughter if he died after claiming his decision to stage fake paparazzi photos near his home led to a rift with his daughter and the royal family.
Mr Markle has given a number of interviews in recent months, where he has revealed details about his relationship with Meghan and his new son-in-law the Duke of Sussex.
He had been due to walk Meghan down the aisle in Windsor on May 19, but pulled out over criticism he faced for staging the photos.
Since then, he has had a distant relationship with his ‘beloved Bean’ – the nickname he has had for Meghan since she was a child.
‘I’m really hurt that she’s cut me off completely,’ he said in July.
‘I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the Palace, but after I said a few critical words about the royal family changing Meghan, they cut me off.’
Her old phone numbers no longer work leaving him unable to contact her at all, he claimed.
