When it is your birthday, you might expect to be the centre of attention.
But for the Duchess of Sussex, who is celebrating her first birthday as a Royal, she will have to take a back seat as she attends the wedding of the Duke’s best friend.
Charlie van Straubenzee, 30, is marrying Daisy Jenks in St Mary the Virgin church in Frensham, Surrey, and Prince Harry is the best man.
Meghan, who is celebrating her 37th birthday today, waved to well-wishers and briefly chatted among other guests outside the church.
She looked gorgeous a navy blue short-sleeved dress and matching fascinator.
The groom played a major part in Harry’s wedding in May as an usher, along with his older brother, Thomas, 35, and was said to have roasted the royal in a humorous reception speech.
Harry arrived just ahead of Meghan and made his way into the church, while the Duchess enjoyed chatting with other guests outside the venue.
Harry, who was star of the show just weeks ago, stayed low-key in morning dress and sunglasses as he accompanied Charlie van Straubenzee.
He was dropped off at the church gates by bus along with a group of groomsmen.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also rumoured to be invited to the couple’s big day as William is good friends with the van Straubenzee brothers, with Thomas a godfather to his daughter Princess Charlotte.
Mr van Straubenzee, who works for investment management firm Brown Advisory, is marrying party and wedding videographer Daisy Jenks.
Harry and Mr van Straubenzee are said to have struck up a close friendship as the groom and the royal attended Ludgrove School in Berkshire together.
Guests clad in summery outfits and morning coats began filing into the church as wedding bells rang one hour before the ceremony began.
Well-wishers lined the sun-drenched street in front of the church to catch a glimpse of the royals and the marrying couple.
Hymns including Shine Jesus Shine and Lord Of All Hopefulness could be heard from outside.
